UN 2017 Report on Racism in Canada Discussion facilitated by Wilburn Hayden, Ph.D. Professor at the School of Social Work, York University April 30 (Monday) 7:30 p.m. First Unitarian Church of Hamilton 170 Dundurn St. South The latest UN Human Rights Council report on issues affecting African-Canadians (Sept. 2017) draws attention to structural racism that “lies at the core” of many Canadian institutions today, manifesting itself in the form of poverty, health problems, low educational attainment, higher rates of unemployment and overrepresentation of African-Canadians in the criminal justice system. The session will be an open discussion of the report and how change can occur. Free of charge. All welcome.
